Young Keeper Experience @ February Half Term for 7-12yr olds

Do you know any 7-12yr olds that would love to work with animals? If so, they are going to love our Young Keeper Experience. They are to be held at February Half Term and involve:
  • The opportunity to get up close and hold some of our animals,
  • feed and clean our animals
  • have a tour of the farm.
Young Keeper Experiences will be 1-4pm on:
  • Tuesday 12th Feb.
  • Wednesday 13th Feb.
  • Thursday 14th Feb.
  • Friday 15th Feb.

Young Keeper Experiences are £7.50 per child, but there are only 7 places available each day so booking is essential.
1 adult/carer must accompany and supervise their child for the duration of the experience.
Cafe facilities are available on site for hot food and drinks.
To book, please contact Lindsey Robinson [Activity Worker] on [01226] 216 474
or email: l.robinson@barnsley.ac.uk

Owl collection donated to Wigfield Farm

We are very lucky here at Wigfield Farm, we have had a collection of owls donated to us from Thurlstone Owl Sanctuary. All the owls have been abandoned, injured or rescued [as a result some struggle to fly].
Here are a few photos of the new owls, more photos will follow shortly....

Snowy owl
Long Eared Owl

Baby Alert! Baby Alert!

We are not long into the New Year and we already have a baby!

We had a Highland Cow calf born on Wednesday morning....here she is with Ruth our Farm Team Leader. Her mum is looking through the fence just behind Ruth.

Isn't she GORGEOUS!!!!
hmmmm.....now what could we call her?!
